Learning to Cope

One specific, ongoing problem in my life that I often avoid is "numbing" my thoughts, feelings, and emotions as a survival mechanism. Three adjectives to describe how I feel about myself are; overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted and critical of myself. How I feel about myself dealing confidently, fearlessly, and expertly with the problem is somewhat undefined. But when I feel overwhelmed I try to engage in some activity that will divert my thoughts. Being emotionally exhausted is difficult for me to define and give an answer to dealing confidently, fearlessly and expertly with the problems. First, I have hope in confidently in accepting help. Second, I will always have fear because it is hard to deal with coping for me without fear. Thirdly, I am certainly not an expert in the field of psychology. I do rely on a professional therapist to help guide me through the healing process.
